The smell of crisp mountain air, the rhythm of the rails and snowcapped Sierra Nevada Mountains as far as the eye can see, that’s only part of what you’ll enjoy aboard our annual Snow Flake Special this Presidents day weekend. While the world outside offers you a view of the Sierras you simply can’t experience other than by rail, the world inside your private railcar is just as exotic. Many Americans have never experienced the world of private rail travel, they haven’t enjoyed its luxuries or had a taste of true first class service. Come, join us aboard the Virginia City for a peaceful trip through the Sierra Nevada mountains. Rail travel is not about economy and speed, rail travel is for those travelers who understand the value of service, and the can appreciate the joy of anticipation. Today’s transportation industry is focused on how fast and how cheap. Step back to a time when happiness was not so much a station you arrived at, but a manner of traveling.
		From the moment you set foot on our red carpet until you debark at your destination you will be in the hands of our veteran chefs and stewards. There are no bags of peanuts or cramped seats aboard our cars, instead of mediocre service you’ll find elegant meals, a constant flow of hors devourers and a full selection of complimentary liquid libations. Instead of cramped airline seats you’ll find a range of atmospheres to explore among five distinct lounges and two vista domes aboard this years Snow Flake Special. Cars subject to change

We’ve been making this run for over 20 years, each trip is better than the next. Each year we seem to see more and more of the same faces, making this a true tradition! This year we hope to top them all by making it the biggest Snowflake yet! We’ll start with our signature Champagne brunch, followed by an afternoon of spectacular sight seeing as we climb from the valley floor to the snow capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada mountains. As we get closer to Reno an afternoon tea service will be set out, with plenty of savory appetizers and succulent sweets for everyone.

Day 2Reno!

The day is yours, Virginia City Rail doesn’t need to tell you how to spend it. Enjoy one of Reno’s many casinos, live performances or music venues. There is plenty of stimulus around, but don’t be shy about asking the crew for tips on local attractions.

We’ve been told that “Rail Travel is the most fun you can have… with your clothes on!” Having had 20 years experience, we have to agree. The only thing better than taking the Snowflake to Reno is taking it back to San Francisco! Waiting on board are all your new friends eager to share their stories about winning and losing in the “biggest little city” in the world! You will receive the same great service on your way home as we roll out an entire day of beautiful scenery, delicious food, and great company. Our 3 course lunch is sure to impress even the most experienced palate. Even though today is the end of our voyage, its not the end of your experience. The memories and friendships created aboard our cars will last a lifetime!
